We took these photos in the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, East Africa.
The Crater was made by a volcano that collapsed into itself leaving an 8,300 sq. km crater with a 2, 000 ft wall enclosing the habitat. Although the wildlife could walk out of the crater, they simply choose to stay because of the rich, year-round abundance of water supplying lush vegetation for food. The preditory animals also hang around year-round because of the abundance of game animals (their food). Phil & June Landrum.
