We Travel... a lot! From local travel, to world-wide excursions, Cruises, and Safaris ans some of us even travel underwater (SCUBA Diving). You name the place and it's likely that someone in our group has been there! Although we come very diverse backgrounds and experience, but we all just love to travel!
We also get together to exchange stories, travel tips, and experiences we've had. We very much enjoy the camaraderie that flows out of our common love ofr the adventures of travel.
Who We Are...
Jim and Katie Robirds (pictured here) working together with Jane Owens and George Tereshkovich, launched the group "Retired Austin Travelers" in January of 2008. With just a handful of like-minded individuals, they started holding meetings, primarily to share information and swap travel adventures. It soon blossomed into quite an organization!
As the name clearly implies, we are a group of (mostly) Retired folks (singles and couples) who live in and around the Austin area. However, you do not have to be retired to join our little group. All you need is a love of travel and a willingness to share your experiences with others.
Come On In... We have a lot of fun!
What We Do...
We hold regular meetings, every other month (beginning January) always on the second Wednesday of the month, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, alwys in the Oak Hill Library at 5124 Convict Hill Road, several blocks West of Brodie Ln. in South Austin. We always send e-mails with date and time information). Members... FYI...
All members... If you've been missing our informal "Coffees" (alternate months of regular meetings) you're missing an enjoyable experience indeed! Our last gathering was at 9:30 am on Monday, August 2, 2010. We met at Paneras Cafe and had the highest attendance to date (see the Video). A most enjoyable time was had by all and it certainly looks like the interest in this as a regular event is growing... guess the Informal Coffee is here to stay.
Our next informal Coffee date will be Monday, October 4, 2010, again at Panera's Cafe on William Cannon Blvd. Go West on William Cannon, past Loop 1-- just after crossing Brush Country Rd, watch for Paneras off to your left.
Join us for a reallygood cup of coffee, and very enjoyable company next time.
